Proud artists ended the week with a fantastic show

Last Friday we said goodbye to our second session of artists, but not before they were able to show an amazing week's worth of work.  The mixed media self portraits and the landscape paintings were most impressive, especially since several of our artists were only 9 years old!  We are looking forward to future "camps" during school vacations, and starting a Saturday class in October.  Details to come soon.  For those of you who requested to purchase picture frames, here it is:  jerrysartarama.com/frames

Thank you again for an inspiring week.  Stay awesome!

Illustrating their creative sides

Today our artists created their transferred image self portraits in the morning, and A.S. finished her dramatic painting of Beavertail Lighthouse. We are all so excited for our "gallery opening" tomorrow  at 3:30.  Friends, family, and siblings are all invited with light refreshments to be served.

Carving out amazing images

This morning the artists learned how to transfer their designs onto a soft block plate and how to carve it.  The designs were creative, but the skill these first time carvers showed was quite impressive.  Patience was key, and these kids were very patient!

Color, color, color!

Marblizing in the morning and brush stokes in the afternoon, the studio was hopping today!

Week two is off to a colorful start!

This week's artists did not waste any time getting down to business.  The illuminated initials with gold leaf had so many details and the afternoon painting session looked like a college art studio, complete with toned under paintings.  We can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring!

The week ended with great success

Friday's session focused on watercolor techniques and different kinds of papers.  Each of our artists exceeded our expectations by producing professional quality landscapes in less than an hour.  We then cleaned the studio to prepare for our "gallery opening" and proudly, the artists shared the week's work with family and friends.  It was truly a lovely week for Joe and I, and we are so excited to start our new session in less than 12 hours!

Creativity was flying today

We can't show you the finished products, as they will be unveiled tomorrow, but here is what the studio looked like when our artists left...
